BAIA debuts at the Milan Design Week 2026 as a new chapter: our roots become design matter, transforming into a contemporary language.
With the new BAIA model, designed by Marco Costanzi, SCHIFFINI comes home. We return to that nautical aesthetic that is part of our DNA. Founded in 1925, where land ends and the sea begins, we started by producing furniture and kitchens for ships and yachts. From this heritage, BAIA is born an project that brings SCHIFFINI back to its origins. The inspiration comes from a careful and curious gaze on what surrounds us, from a sensitivity able to capture often silent details. The focus turns to corners: the austere ones of historic buildings, but also the more subtle ones found in everyday objects. From here a transformation begins: the corner loses its rigidity, becomes rounded, turning into a more welcoming gesture. Even the door opens outward with a more vivid and dynamic presence. These are not only aesthetic choices, but a reference to a world in motion where every object must find its safe harbour. BAIA looks with admiration to the great Masters, while projecting itself into the future by breaking away from the canons of traditional finishes. We have chosen the technology that more than any other defines the future: nanotechnology. A natural vitrification process, free from chemical substances, environmentally respectful and fully sustainable in design. It is not a simple finish, but an innovation that gives the material greater chromatic depth and structural resistance than any conventional treatment.
During Milan Design Week 2026, we invite you to discover BAIA at the SCHIFFINI showroom at via Manzoni 47, Milan.
